Thirsty Thursday

My team at work is awesome. Exhibit 1: Thirsty Thursday!

Last week our coworker Jackie officially finished her MBA (congrats Jackie!), and we celebrated at 9:00 AM on a Thursday with some mimosas minus the champagne. Mocktails seemed like such a great way to start the day, and “Thirsty Thursday” is a fantastic phrase introduced to our team by our fearless and fun captain, Sara, so we decided to make the dream a reality.

Today was the 2nd Thirsty Thursday, and we kicked off the morning with some virgin mojitos. My friend Sam is an expert muddler and had just made mojitos recently, so he coached us through the process. It’s as simple as this:

  1. Take a cup
  2. Drop in 2 lime slices and 6-8 mint leaves
  3. Muddle
  4. Finish ‘er off with 1-2 Tbsp. simple syrup, a handful of ice and fill to the top with club soda
  5. Stir and enjoy!

These mojitos made us so happy. They were not only refreshing and tasty, but more importantly made us feel like we were on a beach somewhere even though we were actually just in our cubes. We got a few curious looks for rinsing mint in the break room and turning a filing cabinet into a bar. But, after we invited these doubters to join the party and they tasted a sip of their mojitos, they quickly became believers in Thirsty Thursday too.

Cheers to having fun at work!

Until we eat again,

Alli
