Mashup of the century: cinnamon rolls + apple pie. Because really, why should you have to choose between them?
Imagine a pie crust made of wee cinnamon rolls that have been flattened and smooshed together. Fill it with apples and top it with crumbly streusel. Oh and don’t forget the icing, which is undoubtedly the best part of any cinnamon roll. I present the majestic Cinnamon Roll Dutch Apple Pie.
I don’t think it’s possible to cram more cinnamony fall goodness into one thing. My mouth tasted a bit like a Yankee candle after eating the pie, but in a good way. And the icing was lick-the-bowl good, as you can see from my “testing” below.
Erica and I baked this last night while the boys watched Clue on Netflix. Yes, our lives really are that glamorous.
