In bowl 1: Rich, creamy, caramel- and cookie-filled chocolate. In bowl 2: Gummy, chewy, sugar-coated fruity candy.
Which would you chose?
This is an ongoing debate in our marriage. I’m captain of Team Chocolate, and Mike is a founding father of Team Fruity Candy.
This difference can sometimes work to our advantage, say when eating Jelly Bellies – there are no arguments over who wants the last toasted marshmallow (me!) or the final piña colada (Mike). But when it comes to sharing a single dessert, gelato or a bag of Halloween candy, life isn’t so simple.
So, we took the question to the masses, who voted by choosing fruity or chocolate.
In between sprints to the door to conduct our social experiment, we chowed down on some homemade Grilled Turkey, Brie and Apple Butter sandwiches and squash soup from Panera. Grilling sandwiches is really the way to go – slather that baby in a little butter and drop in the pan… Golden brown and toasty on the outside, warm and gooey on the inside. Yum!
And the winner of Candy Showdown 2013? Chocolate! I knew it all along.
Which team are you on?
