We interrupt your not-so-regularly scheduled food news to bring you an important update from the Hearne house: Sam said his first word on Tuesday!
Our munchkin has been babbling for quite some time, from the occasional “ga” at first to the constant “dada” as of late. Recently, he’s become quite the parrot, imitating our sounds, gestures and facial expressions. He uses this newfound ability to pull all kinds of shenanigans like sticking his tongue out at us, waving with both hands, and his personal favorite – motorboating his lips, especially when his mouth is full of food and he can give us a good spray.
Tuesday morning while Sam rolled around on the bathroom floor per our usual routine, I could have sworn I heard him say “All Done.” I was delighted when his teacher at daycare and one of the other moms said they also heard Sam say “All Done,” clear as day. Apparently like many things (not all of which are so pleasant), the word is spreading like a disease throughout the daycare, and all the kids are learning how to say it.
The jury is still out on whether or not Sam knows what “All Done” actually means as he has used it both in and out of context. We know he understands the concept, as illustrated by the included photos. Clearly Sam was all done with both those eggs and that high chair.
We couldn’t be more excited to have a little talker on our hands and can’t wait to see what words will come out of his mouth next.
